PENCIL HEADS - Creative Writing Classes for Kids (ages 8-11)!

At Pencil Heads, we believe that all kids have a story to tell, and were going to help them write it!

Pencil Heads workshops encourage kids (ages 8-11) to unleash their imaginations directly onto the blank page. Our goal is to help children improve their writing skills while building their self-esteem in the process. (But don't tell them that-they'll be having too much fun!)

Each workshop begins with exciting improvisational games that get kids onto their feet, into their imaginations, and ready to write! With two instructors in every class, Pencil Heads will never be at a loss for words. We write, we rewrite, and we talk about story structure in a way that makes sense to kids. And when it's all said and done (and written!), we celebrate with a final reading party for friends and family.

INSTRUCTORS:
Andrea Maywhort and Eric Saiet have co-authored two screenplays and currently write for the hit PBS children's series Super Why! Andrea worked for Walt Disney Studios before earning her MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Eric is a theater graduate from Northwestern University who has appeared in over 40 television shows, including ER, Scrubs, and Law and Order. Eric also has extensive experience teaching improvisation, acting, and public speaking skills to children.
